Trip to Japan

I'm a single American female planing on taking a trip to Japan. I've been studying their language (spoken and written) and customs. Are there any major things I should be aware of and what cultural shocks should I prepare for? Thanks for your time!

I think that no matter how much you study the language in America you wont be ready for how they actually speak. There is a difference between the Japanese taught and the Japanese that is spoken on the streets. Be sure to know dictionary form since that is used even more than masu form.

In General Japanese people are very polite but be prepared for some shop keepers to keep an eye on you, a lot of Japanese don't trust foreigners.

Imperial Japan+Cyberpunk Japan=???

Basicly there are two dystopian versions of Japan that have been used to death in AH, 1. Japan as it was durring the second world war, 2. Japan as it was portrayed in most of the cyberpunk perfectly resembles the Japan in Shadowrun - it shamelessly mixes all the worst elements
