Hi!
Me and my sister are coming to London tomorrow evening (Thursday, 26.11). We are landing at Gatwick airport and our plans are to take The Gatwick Express to Victoria Station, and from there the Underground to Green Park and further with the Picadilly Line to Russel Square. We are staying at the Royal National hotel till Sunday afternoon.
Our questions are: What kind of tickects/cards should we buy when we are travelling around for that weekend? Presuming that we are using both underground, buses and trains.. Should we buy a ticket each time, or can we for example use the Oyster card? How does that work? I have read about it on the internet, but couldn´t quite understand everything.
Kind regards
Randi Himle
To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.
This web site explains about the Oyster card. It is generally the cheapest way to make single journeys all around London, and can be used on the bus, the Tube, trams, DLR, London Overground and some National Rail services. I would recommend it.
