Best way to get around on holiday in Europe and in European countries ..... holiday packages are a great way of finding your dream holiday or dream vacation destination
Places to stay or to lay your head - particularly apartments in Barcelona can be a wonderful city but too hot in the summer months.
Have fun and enjoy life
What's the cheapest / best way to travel around in London? Tube or bus?
What comes around goes around.
I would think if you could walk or rent a bike, that'd be the cheapest way to travel. But if not, any form of public transportation is cheaper than renting a car or taking a taxi.
I depends on your plans and what all places you need to see etc. Anyway both these options are cheaper compared to hiring a cab.
I live in Moorbank House in Blackpool and am qualified to answer most questions about the resort and possibly on travel in the UK in general.
If you are ever considering staying in Blackpool then look me up Bed and Breakfast Blackpool

Transport for London
I say the Tube, for sure! It is very clean, surprisingly so. It is quick to get you where you want to go and relatively easy to navigate. You can pay to board each time you go, or get a daily/weekly pass (recommended).
The tube is best within the city (though the trains look crammed and narrow compared to the ones here in the US). If you are going sight seeing to another town etc. the bus would be a cheap option.
If you intend to travel outside London to other UK towns and Cities then the rail network is both modern and quick.
Look to book your tickets online. The more notice you can give the cheaper your tickets will be. In addition if you are looking to spend any length of time here look to invest in a Railcard these will save you money if you plan to do a lot of travelling.
Must see cities in the UK for me would be:
Bath, Stratford, Edinburgh. There are of course many other options for visiting ideas you can get from in here if you let people know what your interests are!!
The main two are Tube and Bus and they perform slightly different functions. Buses are 'short hops' and Tubes are 'long hops'.
Bus - If say you're travelling down Oxford Street, then jump on a bus and 'hop' a stop or two which can take less than 2 minutes. It saves the feet.
Tube - is better to travel between zones - say you're in South Ken. and visiting the museums and you want to then go to Covent Garden - you'd use the Tube. It can make that journey quickly, but by bus it would be slow as you have to traverse the traffic hotspots in Hyde Park Corner, Piccadilly Circus, etc.
Try the river too - you can get travel cards which include the boat services and the DLR (Docklands Light Railway) is light and airy and is included in Travelcard coverage.

Get a Day Travel Card and you can use both! The tube is always faster, but a bit boring and claustrophobic. Buses seem to take forever when you are in a hurry, but you get to see alot. Licensed London Black Cabs are both quick and interesting, but of course a bit more expensive--but invaluable on a rainy night when you come out of a late show and just want to get back to your hotel NOW!!!
