What comes around goes around.

I believe there isn't any direct mode of transportation from Staten Island to Clifton. You will likely have to travel to Manhattan, and take a train from there to Clifton.

What train goes from Manhatten to Clifton? And is there any public transportation that goes from Staten Island into Newark?

I believe the Midlantic rail line starts in Manhattan and passes through Clifton. Check out the New Jersey Transit Itinerary Planner to find the exact information. Happy travels.
