Training my dog not to bark

How can I train my dog not to bark when someone rings the doorbell or knocks on the door?

Training is training...

Express you dissatisfaction, be very patient and reward good behavior with treats, and bad behavior with punishment (not too severe).

You might want to go to someone with the dog and construct a program, as one dog may reacts differently than another.

From what i've watched and read when they bark put them in the sit position and don't answer the door until they're calm and quiet. Once you've answered the door you can phrase but only if they've stayed quiet.

It's going to take some work from you and probably your vistors but i'm sure it'll be worth it.

You should also get some ideas from the net. Lots of people share best practise.

Good luck and all the best x

There are many ways to work with dogs. You might want to go and see a professional regarding the best training program for your specific problem.  This is a site that deals with training dogs. The link leads to an article regarding barking that i think you might enjoy.

All the best.

I suggest you try using equipment such as dog containment system or training collars to train your dogs. These tools will help eliminate dog's unwanted behavior like barking or peeing.
