Training for a 15km race

I'm planning to take part in a 15k race

within a couple of months. At the moment I'm in the process of building a training routine.

My question is: Should I include short intervals, such as 200m*8 or should I invest most of my "quality interval training" time doing 800's ?

You should definitely invest more time doing 800's, about 75%-85% of max heart rate if you're using a monitor. I would start with some fartlek training and then move on to interval training on the track. If you need some more advice check out coolrunning. It's very comprehensive, Good luck with the race.
