Touring the Favelas

I've seen the movie "City of God" recently and was fascinated by the scenes of the Favelas.

I guess that as a tourist it's the last place I would walk by myself, but still i'm wondering whether there is ANY option for a guided tour through the Favelas, just to get a glimpse?

I know many things. Most of them are wrong.

Check these out. They seem be pretty good options. They won't take you to Cidade de Deus specifically, but to other favelas in Rio that probably have a even more interesting scenery. And don't worry, these tours are normally very safe.
