Tire

My Aveo is only at 5 thousand miles and tonight the "tire light" went on ...on the dash. Tires look o.k. What does the light indicate?

It means one or more tires are low on air pressure. Even if they look ok, they can still be 10 lbs low. My 'o8  did the same thing. Air the tires up and the light goes off.

There are sensors in all 4 tires plus your spare that sense the air pressure. Check all 5 tires, one or more is low.
