I think that survival in middle school has a lot to do with who you are. But, looking back to my middle school years, I realized that the people who were confident in who they were and the people who weren't afraid to be themselves did just fine. Do what makes you happy. If you like sports, don't be afraid to try out for the teams and learn to be better. It can be a great way to make friends in school. If you like the arts, anything, join clubs and be a part of what you like to do. Try to take on leadership roles and to be as involved in your school as possible. You will be happy with yourself, busy, and you will also earn respect from others. Be nice to everyone. I remember that I had random groups of friends, I was friends with people who weren't even friends with each other. This was because I was nice to everyone. Don't suck up, just be yourself. I know this is a lot. I think that a lot of this will come just from experience. Be outgoing, don't be afraid of others, and mostly, don't be afraid of yourself. This is the best advice I can give. Enjoy this time. Let it help you figure out who you are, what you love, and what you want to continue on with in high school. Also, work hard in school and do well. It will help to prepare you for high school and will also help you to know what your strengths and weaknesses are. I hope this helps, and good luck. You'll do great!
