Free Mammograms for Low-Income and Uninsured Women in Brevard County, Florida

Tips on Raising Money for a Worth Cause

I started a non-profit in 2008 that provides free digital mammograms to low-income and uninsured women in our community. The organization is Yes to Mammograms.org.  I was wondering in this economy what would be the best way to raise funds - the need is tremendous!  Thank you.

Just an idea, you can sell chocolate with customized wrappers with your cause, you also can promote an affiliate program and donate the commision to the organization.

Here is a good affiliate program that pays commision and is related to natural health.

Just an idea...  hope it helps, and good luck with your venture!

It is difficult to answer your question, not knowing your personality or what you've tried that has brought results. Are you a survivor? If so, you might line-up some clubs, organizations, etc. where you could share your story and ask for pledges of support. If you're not a survivor or aren't  comfortable speaking to a group, you might ask a friend who is a nurse to present for you. No nurse friend? Check with local hospitals, oncology practices, even pharmacies to find a person with knowledge who could contribute to your cause by volunteering.

For me, if someone offered me money to show them my scars, I'd ask them to double the amount and raise my t-shirt. I would do that to help someone else to get a mammo. I might get arrested for indecent exposure, but even that would promote the cause. Good luck!
