Tiny white bugs

I have a old house in the UK, with wooden floor boards and a 4ft basement (which isn't used) and have started to notice these tiny white bugs coming up from the floor boards. My main concern is my dog, I have a british bull dog and am fully aware that the breed have problems with their skin. Since the summer has started he has started to suffer with a skin condition, could these bugs be a possible reason for this skin condition?

These little creatures are caused by moisture & condensation- you can buy insectercide from most house & guarden stores, but be sure it reads on the label; "also or exclusive for booklice". If you can get rid of the mosture problems involved- this will help take care of the problem. as for the dog- the lice could be the problem, but the problem could also be just allergic reaction to other parasites or even new household plants or expoure to air-born or other surface-born parasites. Check with local petshops for collars that protect against "lice" just to be on the safe side...Smile
