Tiny tiny bugs on my yorkie

My yorkie had small tiny bugs on him. They were not flea's or ticks. THey were noticed when I brushed him. They looked like they were on the skin not the hair and they lookedreddish and smaller than a grain of salt. Hard to tell they were bugs. At first I thought it was just dirt. Any ideas??? I found them on his thigh area. nothing seen on his belly. No noticable bites. They seemed to be living in his hair.

Could it be mites or perhaps chiggers. Chiggers are red.

They could also be a type of parasite. I'd suggest taking your dog to the vet to get checked.

The best advice is have your vet check your dog out. The only thing the might be other then what the other answers to your problem could be is ticks but i don't think they are red but they do take blood from the dog so maybe that is what you are seeing.
