Sometimes we put up walls not to keep people out, but to see who cares enough to break them down.

It's best to ask your doctor as there are many different medicines and they affect everyone different.  Some are taken more than once a day.  I personally take mine in the morning because I found that taking them in the evening caused me major sleep problems.

I recently went to a new doctor and noticed he was located in something called the Professional Building. I felt better right away.

There really isn’t a single “best” time to check your blood pressure. Blood pressure is typically at its lowest right after waking up and tends to vary by up to 30% throughout the day. The best way to get an accurate blood pressure reading is to monitor your blood pressure once a day at the same time so you minimize the effect that external factors have on the reading. I check mine in the morning. For more information see this web site.

I happen to take my medicine at night.  Your Doctor is the best one to answer that question.  For a month or two, I kept a log of my pressures all through out the day and recorded my highest and lowest and showed it to my doctor.  I now only take multiple pressures once a week.  I take the log in whenever I see my doctor.  Best of luck keeping your bp under control.

I'm 57 years old and was diagnosed with high blood pressure at 17.  So, I've been taking meds for this most of my life.  About 15 years ago my doctor found a study on the time of day when most people have heart attacks and/or strokes.  Because the results of this study showed that the early morning hours appeared to be the most critical time, (because during this time some people become startled when waking from alarms or bad dreams)  my doctor suggested that I take my meds at night before going to sleep.  The doctor who told me this has since retired and when I had to see a new doctor I explained this to her and she agreed with the 1st doctor.
