While I personally would not have done what May did, I think some women think taking off their clothes is a reasonable way to make some easy money. (I mean, ironically she may make more money doing this Playboy thing than a few U.S. soccer players will make this year.) I also think the attention she's now created for soccer as a whole is a plus that she didn't necessarily think about when she decided to bare all for Playboy.

You sort of answered your own question.

She did it to get her share of the lime light, and the fact the Playboy is interested, means she was right. 

Speaking as someone who has appeared nude in publications before, not only is it a way to make more money then your average joe in a very short amount of time.  It's also one hell of an ego boost!  It also can bring new interest in her.  Before she posed nude when was the last time she crossed your mind?

I truthfully don't think it is any of our business, but you do realize that this Magazine does pay a healthy amount of cash for women to "bare" all.  When she took her clothes off on the soccer field, that can be attributed to the emotion one experiences when winning an international sports event (being an athlete is very intense). I haven't seen the Playboy shots, or the victory strip, but again, it isn't any thing to lose sleep over.  Focus, there is an election going on and a recession happening!
