No, you don't owe me or anyone an explanation about your personal beliefs. And you don't think I'd understand: Try me. I understand a whole heck of a lot more than you have the imagination to conceive of, and excuse me for putting it that bluntly : but you don't know me either and please don't presume to.
Skeptical? I'm one of the most trusting people you can possibly imagine. I love my family more than life itself almost. And there's someone else who I love too, at least as much as my family, and I'd do anything -- that is, anything good, to get that person's attention.
You have no idea of what I've done in the name of what I define as love. NO idea. And please, I respectfully ask of you as you do of me, do not presume to assume that I would not understand you when you can't possibly know that.
Sure. Fine. You don't want to waste your time. Right. You and so many people don't want to waste their time wrestling and struggling with the moral and ethical issues of justice and freedom and what it means to live a good life -- truly and really and without harm to others and yet doing the maximum good that you can as much of 100 percent of the time as you can muster the strength to do. That is what I spend most of my waking hours doing. And not just theoretically either. But in my everyday actions and words and thoughts. But you don't know that. You just have my word for that. At least, though, you have my word. Most people just have only my actions to go on. And those actions have been misconstrued so often that it almost ALMOST makes me feel like giving up altogether. But, no, I won't. I'll go on. Just like always. And I'll go and live my life and love the people I love and the other animals I love and the beauty of the trees and the lovely evidence of a sweet and kindly nature that I see in my everyday life.
Skeptical? Me? You don't know me. Really : you don't know me.
Negative? Not really. Most people find me so incredibly supportive they hardly notice me.
Not fun to be around? I can turn a simple fart into something sweet and gentle to laugh about. You don't know my nieces : They consider me one of the silliest people they've ever met!
