Think about this one, guys

If you could do anything illegal - and knew you could get away with it without anyone finding out - what would you do?

This is a response to Robinhood and DrStrangelove and Chaplain John.

When I said open a no-kill shelter in every city, I meant that there would be enough money to open the shelter (in an area where the animals do not have to be in cages all day (keeping in mind those animals that cannot be with the general "public" will obviously be sheltered separately), hire and pay above-average salaries to all staff (including benefits, PTO, vacation, etc.) keeping the facility open 24/7, make sure there are behavior specialists to help those animals that are most aggressive re-learn how to behave so that eventually they can be adopted out or at least be with the general "public" again and not be lonely, feed, medicate, and help all animals, offer free services to the communities (like spaying/neutering, vaccinating, free medications like Heartguard and Frontline, etc.), have teaching classes to educate the communities about how to care properly for animals, and no questions asked to those who bring animals to the facility to surrender. The facilities would be open for the next 200 years (at minimum). Financial resources would never be questioned because there would be nothing the facility could not do (in terms of surgeries, # of staff per animal [no more than 10 dogs per staff member] so each animal gets attention and love, yummy treats for all animals, top medications, etc.).

All animals deserve to be loved and have a voice. They cannot speak in words we can understand so it is our responsibility to be their voice. You mention these "human animals," and I will respond by saying that God gave them the ability to use words to express what is going on in their life. Only they can help themselves by speaking out to another human being to get the help they so desperately need. I do not feel bad for their situations because they have the capabilities to change their situations when they use their words. Animals do not.

This is what I meant when I said steal enough to open no-kill shelters.

Steal enough money to open up a no-kill animal shelter in every city and cover the cost of prosecuting every ignorant person who is found guilty of animal abuse and/or neglect.

Love is the battery of life....

H, ------ I'll give the most boring answer: I won't do it !. Same applies when I contribute something I don't publish it. So I do things (or do NOT do things) because that's the way I think / feel I should do and NOT for publication (or being afraid to get caught). ------ Best regards,

Mr Hood,

I believe that the question you asked was a hypothetical, so I answered hypothetically. In reality, I would never claim or state any of the things you have so articulately stated for me. The error in your reply to me is that you drift in and out of the hypothetical. The reality is, I am only one person, with one vote, I am "Joe Average". I make no claims that I could, or would be a better president. What I will claim and state is, I can and will make a difference. I am so average that when I speak, I speak for many. The opinions that I have are the opinions of many, so that makes me powerful. Myself, and the many I speak for, will go to the polls in 2010 and 2012 and cast our votes. There is no doubt in my mind that we will oust Obama, and the far left liberals from office. We may live in more idealistic and progressive times, but I don't think Americans are ready for such radical change or socialism.

When the Framers drew the Constitution and the Bill of Rights it was indeed progressive and idealistic, but in a way that moved us from the tyrany of government that Mr. Obama is trying to lead us back into.

Americans want jobs, they want government to help, but they do not want there every move to be dictated to, no womb to tomb. When starving people are offered a slice of bread they will take it with conditions, once their belly is full, they will bite the hand that fed them for freedom. The very basis of the constitution, freedom.

Obama has his followers fooled, he could care less about any of them. It is all about him and nothing more. When the liberals wake up from their nap, they will vote him out too. Even the most progressive leftist liberals won't stand being dictated to.

So Mr Hood, if you think that you know me, and what I stand for, then you must also know the millions of others behind me, beside me, and in front of me. You have a good day sir.

George~

That statement about life being a banquet is a favorite line from Auntie Mame, meaning that most poor (she said sonsabitches) souls are starving to death.  What it says to me is:  There is a joyous and beautiful life to be lived and most of us fail to see/live it.

I think I'd smoke an illegal cigarette just to see what all the hoopla is about.  First, I'd grow my own pot of pot just to be sure no one knew what I was doing.(instead of buying it on the street)  Then I'd study up on the kind, no, I guess the studying should come first, then the growing, then the smoking...or should I bake some in some brownies.(first i'd need to get the seeds)  geeze...this is getting complicated...  I've always wondered how it would differ from alcohol.  I'd stay home, not drive a vehicle or even see anyone else, and just test it out.  Curiosity killed the cat and this incident would probably make me very sick.  Still....I've wondered....CoolTongue out  cute question    NJoy

I wouldn't do anything illegal, at all, because my conscience would bother me. If people have a sense of morality about right and wrong, they will not do anything illegal, even if they could get away with it.

Personally, I do not have any rent to pay, but I understand your question.

When I did pay rent I paid it out of the money I saved out of my paycheck.

Every month I paid the rent until I decided to buy my own home and then I took that rent money and applied it to a mortgage payment.

Then I realized, if I dug a little deeper, and gave up a few luxuries, like new underwear, and store bought bread, I could pay off the mortgage.  So I did that.  It made life much easier for awhile.  I could buy chicken once in awhile and not rely on 3lbs of hamburger for $1 as I had been doing. I could put a smile on the face of my children by bringing home a bag of potato chips.  Life was good.

All the time I was sacrificing to live within my means, I was joyous and very thankful for this thing called "the banquet"     NJoy
