My personal belief is that any and all diets will fail if you don't practice some kind of portion control. Many people get the idea that "so long as it's [you name it here--no fat/carb/sodium/whatever] I can eat as much as I want". I personally beg to differ. First things first, the no fat/carbs/blah blah blah equals no flavor! Eat the foods you love, just eat enough to satisfy your taste for them. Eat slowly--use a dessert fork to eat your dinner. (Sounds crazy but it works!)
The other big key is to combine those small portions with some kind of exercise you enjoy so you stick with it. The best kind of exercise is what is called "lifestyle" exercise--things like dancing, rollerskating, playing sports, you get the idea.
