TheSockbama.com: Obama sock-monkey doll racist?

David and Elizabeth Lawson of TheSockbama.com have created a campaign year collectable item that is raising a serious controversy and cutting to the heart of racial tensions in America.

Jeanetta Williams, representing a local chapter of the NAACP called the cuddly sock monkey: “pure racism at it’s extreme.” Obama supporters are condemning the makers of the toy. Outraged Obama supporters have even gone so far as to post the Lawson’s name and home address online.

Sales quadrupled since.

What do you think? Is it racism or not?

Sounds like some over sensitive PC BS to me.

With all due respect, I doubt there's any sort of representation that wouldn't be construed as racism.

Hillary was a nut cracker. I don't hear the women crying over that...

I don't think it is, I think that any politician, especially one running for president should expect this type of things.

I would like one of each; these are funny!

YES, Hillary is a ball-buster with a big smile.

And YES Obama does look like this little puppet (right down to the big-ol ears).

The white men in office have taken many public jokes about them and roll with it.

Who is so stupid to believe Obama is not a racist.  The man hates white people!  Guess he should not be so angry that this little Obama-sock was created.   C'mon Obama  you are not fooling this bi-racial woman.   I know the internal racial conflict you grew up with.  It's time to move past it.  This is funny stuff.

So here we have it: 2009 may bring the first woman or the first African-American president.  If they can't handle a little creative jab here and there; how can they possibly survive being the President of the United States.

We are really in for some trouble if we  get one of these weak-spirited people elected.
