Thailand plane crash Phuket

I'm planning a trip to Asia in the next couple of months, and am seriously contemplating going to Thailand. Is it just me or is the island of Phuket suffering a major string of catastrophes lately, beginning with the Tsunami of 2005, and still going strong with today's terrible plane crash.

Would you visit Phuket? How would you go there?

There is absolutely no connection between the tsunami that happened in 2005 and the plane crash today.  The point is that life is completely unpredictable... meaning that you can either choose to live or choose to be afraid of things you will never know.  A plane crash could happen anywhere.  So what if it's the same place as a tsunami that occurred 2 years ago.  Have fun and travel... don't worry.

Welcome to Thailand, nothing wrong with the island. There are lots beautiful beaches waiting for you to visit. But this is the rainy season (till OCT), we do feel sorry for the family of those victims in plane crashed. The captain is Indonesian who lost his life in the accident too.

The best time to visit Thailand is around NOV - FEB, if you love beach, we also recommend Samui in Surat Thani and Koh Chang in Trad or you may go up to northern part which are rich in culture and hospatalities ..you gonna love us..but be ware of picked-pocket ..same as in London, Paris, Rome.

Enjoy tour trip!

I guess it's  just bad luck , if you ask me . If Thailand was a place i really wanted to visit the plane crash would not be something that would stop me from visiting. Personally I would visit the island by sea I think there is a better chance to survive from a boat/ferry accident then a plane one?!

Thailand is a great place to relax and\or explore,

for those who wish to explore, I'd recommend to try to eat where only Thai people eat, take some local transportation, and to try to get off the turistic route.

for those who wish to relax, there's a medium size village up north, called Pai, it's a nice place to visit with a little of evry good thing Thailand has to offer (Good food, Good hospitality, great views, Massage, Shopping...).

this village is about 4 hours north of the city Chiang Mai.

Have Fun !
