What if a renter files Bankruptcy? How does that effect the landlords right to collect the rent? Is that grounds to evict?

Well, it's problematic from location to location

You are first in line for payment though. Most legislation tries to protect someone' rental abode first from being lost during a bankruptcy (for renters). 

 Check your state/provincial legislation.
