I have a small antique shop and whenever I buy wooden furniture with a musty smell I toss a few (or several depending on how big the item is) tea bags into it. It does take awhile to do the job, but it's not a lot of work, which is nice. I don't remember where I learned this trick, but I've known about it for many years.
