I would like to know if anybody had Lazer Periodontal Therapy( Lanap) done on there teeth? If so, did it do any good or is it just a waste of money?
I would suggest you go in for a consultation. I have had my teeth whitened through lazer before and it would wonderfully for me. It was a few years ago and it does fade a bit if you do not take care of it, but most places offer touch-ups for at least the first few years. I hope this helps. Good luck!

My husband plans on going in for a consultation, when he decides on the precedure he wants. I heard something about having a plastic piece to go over th gums, with some gel or something like that, to kill the gingivitus. Have you heard anything like that?
I assume you are asking about a gingivectomy (removal of gum tissue) and not bleaching. A laser gingivectomy is the newest form for this need. Gum tissue can be removed either by laser or with a scapel. Yes, this is a very successful form of controlling periodontal disease. The need for this is when you have deep "pockets". Pockets are when you have gum tissue but no bone coming up to the gum line that you see when looking at your teeth. These pockets breed bacteria and tarter collects which then lead to more bone lose. You cannot remove or control this with brushing. Removing this gum tissue eliminates this collection and prevents further deterioration. You will never get the bone to regenerate to fill this pocket. If you wish to keep your teeth you need to do this procedure. Just be sure you are going to a Periodontist. This specialist has the most knowledge and experience. Hope this helps.
Yes, I mean the lazer for gingivitius. Did you have it done, or know of someone?
