How to get your middle schooler to refocus on school
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good to do nothing" Edmund Burke
"I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them" Thomas Jefferson
don't be a lemming.....educate yourself and make informed decisions....
This is a very tough age for parents and children....they are going through puberty and are soooo vulnerable. We as parents need tons of open ears, patience and sympathy.
One thing I did was let them read things they were interested in (regulated of course) my daughters we into make-up, clothes, singers, animals, etc. so I bought magazines they were interested in. Thier their teachers called within 3 weeks asking what I was doing and I told them. In a couple months grades went up and so did school interest. But remember when you were in Jr High....and have pitty on them
Something is probably affecting his/her mind. You cannot really MAKE the kid re-focus but let him/her smoothly get into it. That is the age plus high school when things are screwed up. Let the child find his/her own direction but keep an eyes on the kid.
