What a great man and he will be truly miss. His sister Eunice Kennedy Shriver(Maria Shriver's Mom) just passed away 2 weeks ago. Ted has been through so much and he was a real survivor.  RIP......I will miss you

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everybody.

He was a fighter for what he believed in. Especially when it came to equal rights and health care reform. I too will miss him.

First off I cannot see what all the Ho-Hum is about. I mean come on the man has a checkered past. Yes he did some great things in Congress. If he had been a lesser man things would have been a whole lot different. So here is some information that I received from a friend on the question at hand.

Seeing The Kennedys in the Rearview Mirror

"The Kennedys were more than a rich, bad family who gained temporary political power. They were demagogues of oligarchy. Disguised as populists, they championed the definitely privileged and supposedly enlightened few....There is something more horrible than hoodlums, churls and vipers and this is knaves with moral justification for their cause. The Kennedy's thought the world would be a better place for having them run it."

"Whom the gods would destroy, they first drive mad."  Euripides.

The more we see of the words of Obamites, the closer they come to madness.

Only we who keep our sanity will survive the Obamite rebellion.

What do I think of when the name, Ted Kennedy arises?

1.  Chappaquiddick.
2.  Draconian anti-gun-owner laws that disarmed people at risk and armed criminals, counter to his proposals.
3.  Drunkenness, disloyalty to his wife on five occasions, one scandal after another, and connection to the Irish Mafia, that gave Joseph Kennedy most of his strong arms.

I could go on and on.  Censure after censure (one from his own brother, Attorney General Robert Kennedy) and lots worse.

I think about his older brother, John F. Kennedy, who blew it as the commander of PT-109, lost his boat, most of his men, and should have come up for General Court Martial but for the political influence of his gangster father.  Not content with that, JFK antagonized the Soviets and put us to within a breath of nuclear war with those Russian criminals.  The Politburo ended Khruschev's term way early, and the CIA made short work of Kennedy -- because they were both just plain dangerous, prickly, and short tempered.

If you can see something good about the Kennedys, then what might it be?  They certainly are not loyal Americans.  We proved that with Ted, repeatedly.

miguelgarza, sad to say, you are correct.  the kennedys were beautiful people, but only physically.  they were as corrupt from the word go as any of us can imagine.  money and power.  that's what they were about.

If you want to make peace you don't talk to your friends, you talk to your enemies. - Moshe Dayan

I actually could not care less. He did nothing to affect real change in this country.

Ted kennedy stayed in touch with me until his last letter dated in April of 2009 months before his passing.

In the 1970s and 1980s I travelled with the Senator recording radio and T.V. adds. we stayed in touch, in one letter Ted expressed a strong desire to come to my studio and record a song or two.

when I produced the recording of, "Pope John Paul II , live on Boston Common on October of 1979, Ted endorsed the album , it was on of his favorites till the end.

I sent the photo of Ted and myself  to the News Media but they were not interested. i may do a feature story in the Boston Globe  and include that photo

In the real world Ted was a warm sensitive man, very much missed . .
