Ted Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor

If Ted Kennedy has a malignant brain tumor, does that mean it's the last of the Kennedys in American politics?

I'm not sure, but I think right now Ted Kennedy is the only one actively in politics.

I wouldn't  bet on it though, and I wouldn't dismiss the Kennedy's either.

Best of health to Ted.

Money is better than poverty, if only for financial reasons.

No, even though Ted Kennedy is the elder statesmen of the Kennedy clan, there have been others in the family that have already held political office, and there might be others with political ambitions that we don't even know about. There is the possibility that Joseph Patrick Kennedy II might run for the Senate, bit it is way too early to see if this will happen.

What a sad day it would be if the last Kennedy brother were to pass away.  I can remember where I was when I heard that John Kennedy and later Bobby Kennedy were assassinated.

But it's not the end for Kennedys in politics.  Patrick Kennedy, Ted's nephew (Bobby's son), is a member of Congress.  There's also Maria Shriver (Eunice's daughter), who's an active first lady in California, where her husband, Arnold Schwarzenegger, is governor.

I'm not sure on your question but, FYI my brother, died of this brain tumor. From the day he found out, he lived only 36 days. It was one of the  worst days of my life. Even though he went fast, it is a nasty cancer. Our prayers are for him!!

The family is very large and very supportive of each other, I am sure that more Kennedys will enter the political arena in the future.

Strike Hard / Strike Home

Glioblastoma is a rapid growing carcinoma of the brain.  It does not "metastisize" or spread like most cancers do.  It does grow very fast and eventually produces a herniation of the brain stem through the foramin magnum which is universally fatal.

If the neurosurgeons removed all of the cells; he may be OK.  Then again he is an old man.  Life is short anyway.   Time will tell.

No.  Just today Chris Kennedy, son of Bobby Kennedy, announced he was running for Senator.
