Technum board

I am looking at an A-Frame chalet, to be used for vacation purposes, that has exposed "technum board" used as the ceiling. A new roof was put on  this structure last year. It was built in the 70's. I have concerns with this material, as the support beams showed signs of mildew during the building inspection. Does the nature of this product hold more dust or moisture that might cause it to mildew as well? Can it be sealed effectivly with Kils or something simular? Thanks for any information you can give me.

Sounds like you should have an expert come and take a look at the whole structure. You may have to make some extensive changes and there is no point in waisting time. This mildew can turn into a serious problem if you don't take care of it.
