its October 5th same as the Inernational Teachers date

The schools I and my children have attended haven't ever had an official "teacher recognition day." It is, however, common to give teachers small gifts for Christmas and at the end of the school year. If the teacher's birthday is known, a small birthday gift would be apropos, as well.
