Tea for Two

I drink on an average of 64 ounces of black tea per day.  The tea is very weak, I use one teabag per 32 ounces of water & it steeps for 15 minutes.  For each 12ounces of tea I add 4 ounces of fat free milk. Am I fulfilling my water and calcium needs?   I've been told I am not do to tea being a dieretic, it depletes one of the fluid.  Also that the milk looses its calcium benefits mixed with the tea.  Yes, I do take a trip to the bathroom at least every 1 1/2 to 2 hours.Laughing Thanks, Barbara

Tea and coffee both contain caffeine, which is known to make you go more than you would have if you had drunk the same amount of liquids in water form.

You might want to switch some of the black to herbal tea which is caffeine free.

In terms of calcium, it is probably to eat yogurt  or two slices of low fat cheese, or some cottage cheese. The human body doesn't really have the right tools to deal with milk in its natural form.
