Tea Kettle Floaties

I live in a hard water area. I recently bought a new tea kettle and noticed that the surface of the boiled water showed numerous tiny little particles floating on the top. I'm wondering if this is safe to drink. Can anyone help with this? Thanks,Rudy

It sounds like you have a mineral build-up in the tea kettle.  Pour white vineger into the kettle, boil, then rinse well.  In hard water areas this needs to be done on a regular basis.

Postmaster -

Thanks  for thinking about this and responding. Fact is, I've gotten this result with two brand new tea kettles, both of them after washing and rinsing thouroughly. One was porcelain lined and the other was stainless steel.
