Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
Tax (of any kind) will either increase the price or decrease the profit of the producer.  Increasing the price means less product will be sold..... directly effecting the producers (and the farmers).  Less profit means effecting the wealth / stability of the producer.
Best regards,

In my state (with one of the highest tobacco taxes in our nation), it has increased smuggling dramatically, and turned normal merchants into criminals.  Counterfeiting of state tax stamps is rampant.  Sales of taxable tobacco products has fallen, hurting many merchants, and sales of the lower taxed and make-it-yourself products has risen.
