Tax abatement approved property

I purchased a property in brooklyn, new york, bushwick area located at 29 woodbine street, brooklyn, new york, block:3348, lot:49, i was told that my property had been approved and had the tax abatement 421(a), however the bank will not accept that my property is tax abated unless i give them proof which i do not have, since the abatement was issued before my closing date and i know that i do have some type of abatement because all my real estate quarterly tax bills come for are for $19.74.   Please help me and let me know how i can get either a list of exempt properties where my property would be included or a copy of the certificate of elegibility.

You can call HPD(Housing Preservation Development) @ 212-863-6196.  Ms. Arden Sokolow is the Director of the 421a program but is on vacation this week. The alternate # for the person(Jenna) covering for Ms. Sokolow is 212-863-6227 but she doesn't answer and it goes to voicemail requesting you leave a message and she'll return your call.  I've had the pleasure of speaking with Ms. Sokolow in the past and was deeply impressed with her professionalism, courtesy and patience with me and my questions concerning 421a.  Also, she answers her own phone.  If you can't get an answer or response quick enough, you can call Unger Realty Services on Coney Island Avenue in Brooklyn( 718-859-3101).  Their 421a specialist is Ms. Josefa Weisssman who was so helpful when I called I sent her a gift.  Good Luck.

Regards,

Stanley

Dear Kristen,

Based on the NYC DOF Record for 08/09 fiscal shows you property being listed as vacant lot. The NYC DOB indicated that the TEMP C/O was ISSUED ON 12/18/2007 for a Three family home. Prior to closing developer should have given you a copy of the Preliminary Certificate for the 421-a Exemption. You can call 421-a program customer service at 212-863-8540. They will let you know who was the filing representative fo the developer and if application was filed or not. Good luck. Sincerely, Dan dan_dan73@yahoo.com
