Taking glass shrapnel out of my hand

I accidentally broke a glass and while cleaning the shrapnel some really small ones penetrated into my hand. They are not visible to the eye but I can definitely fill them.

How can I get them out?

HI

If it is readily palpable then doctor can give a nick reght on top of it and take out really 30 minutes job. If it is not palpable then either an X-ray or prefferebaly CT scan would localize it and then it can be pulled out throgh minor surgery. In case it is not causing much of a problem and piece is deep and very small then forget it, usually these are inert materials and would not cause any problem except foreign body reaction locally.

regards

Before going to a doctor or a hospital emergency room, place adhesive tape over the suspected shrapnel. If it jutting out it will come out when you pull off the tape. If you can still feel something then go directly for medical treatment.

If the pieces of glass went deep under the skin, you should really go see a Dr. and have him remove the glass by either surgery or a good magnifying glass and tweezers. However, if it's just in the very top layer of skin - soak your hand in hot water. Not burning hot, but more then warm for about 10 minutes. the hot water would make the pours expand and the tiny shreds would just fall out into the water.
