Firstly, isn't that like taking coals to Newcastle?! Secondly it would depend on quantities and type - the previous answer is correct in that the French Embassy's web site will give you chapter and verse, but a good rule of thumb is no fresh meat products, no diary, veg etc. That having been said I believe that the same is true coming from France to the UK but I for one always bring cheeses and cooked meats back in small quantities. Dried/tined is not usually any issue either.
