Taking children from polygamist ranch

Can Texas police really do this?  Can they just raid a community and take all the children away?  I know polygamy is illegal ... but taking all those children away from their mothers??

It's not just the fact that polygamy is illegal... it's also the fact that they were forcing underage girls to marry and commit acts of incest, which is definitely illegal.

Love is the battery of life....

Hi,
The way you posted your notes indicate that you think it's not the right thing to do.....  In other words you accept / agree to: Polygamy marriage of underaged, sex with children... etc...  (In any case young children should stay with their mothers, that's a different issue).   I hope you don't support breaking the law, and I hope you accept that if one breaks the law one should be punished accordingly.
Best regards,

Oh, I didn't know about the other illegal acts.  Were all of the children victims?  The authorities aren't lumping innocent adults with the guilty ones, are they?

To say nothing, especially when speaking, is half the art of diplomacy.

As far as I am concerned, when it comes down to religion (no matter what the religion), and protecting the rights of a child, a child always comes first. We are just beginning to find out the details of what actually occurred here, and we may never know all of the details. There is a good chance that these children will carry these scars with them for the rest of their lives. In this case, the Texas police, had every right to take these children away from their mothers. Its too bad it didn't happen sooner.

Why not a raise a question to the State Laws challenging them in court to change the law that does not make sense to mojority of people. The case was new to the court so the ignorant judge wanted to get rid of them all and dismiss the case for the mothers and the children. Then the State would have to provide them with Welfare etcetera. It is a dirty game of politics in the court systems and one should always be challenging the State or you will be slaves.
