Tach for a 1968 Merc 650 outboard?

1968 Mercury 650 - 4cycl outboard motor- was there ever a tachometer available for this motor?  Is there one now that will connect and where does it hook into the wiring harness? I would like to put a correct tach in the dash of a VanPelt vintage wooden boat.
