Table etiquettes in Thailand

What are the table etiquettes in Thailand? I'm planning a vacation in Thailand and if I go there I plan to eat in a good restaurant at least once.

well, you might want to read

this. However, you should know that most of the restaurants, especially in Bangkok and other big cities, are used to western diners, so there's nothing to worry about.

Like gkamin said, you have nothing to worry about restaurants in BKK.

anyways, whenever dinning with Thai people (especially if you are a guest at their own gome) Never 'clean' your plate, it will appear as you did not get enough food to satisfy yourself.

A few things:

1. You'll be given a fork and a spoon. Use the fork only to scoop food into the spoon, and don't put the fork into your mouth, it is not cosidered polite there.
2. Usually the food will be served to everyone together, to the center of the table. Don't use your own spoon to take food from the cetral plate to your plate, and take only a few spoonfulls every time.
3. When using a toothpick, cover your mouth with your hand.
4. Feel free to tip.
