T.P.D. vehicie video/audio tapes

do the video/audio cameras in the tampa police department marked police cruisers continuiously record from the time the officer signs out his/her car until the time they return there car? or do they physical control when they turn it on and off? in short  if they dont wont a certian traffic stop to be recorded can they turn the camera off ? is it manditory that it always records the entire shift?
