TV only has antenna hook up, how do I connect my gamestop system selector through my vcr?

My old tv died so I acquired a new one. But I can't figure out how to get my system selector to work through my vcr.

The tv only has 1 antenna (RF) input, no a/v (red yellow white cables) connections on it anywhere. My vcr has the a/v connections, 2 in 1 out and is connected to the tv through the antenna.

I tried plugging the system selector in exactly the same way I had it before but apparently that isn't right. I also tried connecting my xbox through the vcr itself, no good.

The vcr works, I can watch movies and tv through it but i can't seem to find a way to connect and play xbox through it.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

I can't buy a new tv, and I know it isn't the selector, which worked fine with my old tv that had a/v connections on it.

So am I stuck playing nintendo until I can get a new tv?

Why does a tv built in 1988 have more inputs than the one built in 2002 anyway?

Am I crazy or is that just retarded?

Hello, First, Are you sure your TV has only RF input? Which model&brand is it? Second, I've seen this post recently you may find it useful.

Thanks for trying to help, the post you mentioned was actually how I found this site from google.

The tv is a phillips 19" crt, I couldn't find a model name, but the number on the back is 19ps30c122. I'm 99% certain there is only one input, I believe its called the RF input. It's where you I would plug in an antenna, or cable if i had it. Right now I have a nintendo connected to it, with the vcr connected to the nintendo switch box.

I seached the back and front for a panel or something that may be hiding the a/v inputs but have seen nothing. I can't imagine why they would be hidden.

I'd be happy just to connect my xbox through the vcr without the system selector, but I have yet to figure it out. The vcr has the inputs and connects to the tv, I watched baseketball on it last night, but doesn't seem to allow my xbox to play through it. The vcr is a Toshiba, can't see a model name or number on it, that I got in the late 90's.

Any ideas?

Ok, figured it out. Apparently I needed to find my vcr remote and switch channels using that instead of my universal remote. I guess the input button on my universal isn't good enough for my vcr.

Thanks anyway

TMONEY,
Want to try something.
The VCR has [in the back or sometimes, the front] a/v [audio, video]inputs.Connect your game(if you can) to those inputs. They should be RCA jacks\plugs.KEEP the RF cable from TV to VCR connected!!.Put Channel 3 on TV,Make sure VCR(small switch in the back) is placed on channel 3[ NOTE;; you really don't have to put the VCR channel changer to channel 3],place BLANK VHS tape in VCR,press RECORD.Turn the game on, You should be able to see the "turn on screen" of your game system ,play your game.
