I'm getting a divorce and will receive child support for my son, but he has Down syndrome and will be dependent all of his life. How can I make sure he's taken care of?

You should use some of the proceeds from your child support, or settlement if you have one, to set up a supplemental needs trust. This will provide for your son when you're no longer around without disqualifying him for government benefits.
You can get your son on social security disability. He is eligible. He will also get medical coverage with his social security disability. Take your son down to the social security office and apply for him. Also go on the social security website at ssa.gov.
