Switch on GE dishwasher

"starter switch?" on apartment sized GE spacemaker dishwasher not working ... It's at the top of the door ... if I hold the door shut, it will work fine ... but it won't work otherwises. Any suggestions?

It sounds like the safety switch is loose or bent, or the door latch isn't holding tight enough.

Just a old Country Boy, would give you the shirt off my back, just don't try to take without asking first.....

Now what Profitbob states is true but something else you might try is if the d/W is in the hole under the counter it may not be attached to the bottom of the countertop, there fore the D/W moves back ever so lightly while you really can't lock the door therefore the D/W is reading the door is open, so it won't start.
