Elderly gentleman only wants a Texas food treat? I'm going to visit an elderly family friend, age 92, in Germany. As a 'hostess gift' there is nothing he really wants, except to again taste some of his old favorite southern Texas foods. I COULD easily carry him some canned foods (COOKED, CANNED, black-eyed peas and 'greens', along with some pre-packaged cornbread mix). I am prepared to take an extra checked bag with a few of his 'favorite food items' but I am afraid they won't be permitted through customs. Will the items be taken away from me when I go through 'Customs'? Can anyone please give me some advice? Also, will they permit me to take some foods that I can have with me at a hostel for my special diet? What would be allowed? How much? Thanks so very much! I leave in 5 days. Becky
