The first person who I think should be there for support and was for me, was my husband. Other then my husband, I had my mother there too. She has always been a huge support and it made me feel a lot better that she was there.

The best support during labor is supposed the one you made a baby with.

If one just had a sperm donor, then your mother or sister or best friend are the best people to help you.

The lowest servant in Heaven is still in Heaven.

Whoever rules in hell is still in hell, but they won't rule for long.

Your husband, followed by your best friend.  However, do not bring your mother along, because she is the one who put that curse on you: "If you live long enough to grow up, and you have kids, they will act the way that you do!!!!!"

Note that this curse comes from no lesser authority on parenting than Bill Cosby.

"The reason we have five children is because we do not want six!  My son, Ennis, is caught in the middle.  He has two younger sisters, and two older sisters.  They have had a meeting!  Even the four year old was hostile!  You have no idea how important to a female it is that you lift the lid . . .."

So, remember, young mom, that you are not entirely at the mercy of a screaming kid.  You, also, may pronounce the dreaded, Mother's Curse!
