How to get some Summer friends?

I'm a college student who's going to school far away from home and only have a few friends left in the area back home.  I want to meet new people when I go back for summer vacation, and especially people around my own age would be great. Any ideas?

Won't some of your old friends also be going home for summer vacation from their colleges?

As far as meeting new people, go out and do the things you like to do, and talk to the people around you.  You already have the common ground of an interest in the same activity.

Well you could always do social networking, but make sure those people can be trusted. Like, look for people in your area by searching in MySpace or Facebook or something. Or go out to some clubs, or even to recreation areas, parks, beaches. Don't be afraid to approach people..especially those your own age. Most likely, they're looking for new friends as well.

Good luck!
