I remember a story about a small rat like creature that commits suicide by jumping off cliffs . Are there animals that commit suicide in nature ?

The only suicide animals I've ever heard of is scorpions sometimes
stinging themselves to death but that may be a myth too.
There are a couple of animals that "do" or believe to be committing suicide like:Dolphins, scorpions, octopus, bumble bees, spiders but I found some interesting articles which are worth going trough.

Scorpions do not sting themselves to death, that is also a myth.
To the best of my knowledge there are no clear-cut cases of animals actually committing suicide (another reason that humans are superior to animals )
