When they can define what success means to them, and have achieved that definition.  For some people it's winning a game, for others it's x amount of dollars, for others it's standing up to adversity, win or lose, and maintaining their integrity.

RE: My question is about SUCCESS. When can a person ...

Hi,
ProfitBob gave you an excellent answer (gave him 2 thumbs up).  I would suggest to define the term: "success".   Once you do it you'll know what successful means.  ProfitBob  pointed out correctly that it is very personal / individual....  success is not nessacery related to money or real estate..... success can be in totally other terms (a diploma, overcoming fear, climbing a mountain..... being fauthful..... raising a family.... lo love and give love.... to do a job perfectly..... and zillion more).
Best personal regards,

RE: My question is about SUCCESS. When can a person ...

I have met people in all walks of live who believe they are sucessful.   Some of them, I actually believed!  Everyone has their own barometer to measure success.  The worst thing a person can do to themselves is measure their success on imposed or borrowed  ideals (be it, work, education, family or anywhere but in their own heart).   We need to design our own journey to  the place we decide success  is.   To thine own self be true. Our differences are what balances our world.   Success is a Journey, to determine your path and follow it; you are successful.   You have your whole life to find. So, map it out, buckle up and enjoy the ride! You will know it when you get there.

Interesting idea, can't say i disagree entirely Ours are ominous times. Each nervous glance portends some potential disaster. Paranoia most mornings shocks us to wakefulness, and we totter out under the ghostly sun. At night fear agitates the darkness. Dreams of empty streets flitter through our fitful heads. Enduring these omens, as vague and elusive as the obscure horror they suggest, we strain to think of exactly what scares us. Our minds run over a daunting litany of global problems. We

Was Fanny’s Love Realistic? (Ch. 24) Some of Austen’s critics have difficulty following her counterfactual reasoning, as when she speculates about how Henry Crawford would have got on if Fanny hadn’t formed an early attachment to Edmund. And without attempting any farther remonstrance, she left Fanny to her fate, a fate which, had not Fanny’s heart been guarded in a way unsuspected by Miss Crawford, might have been a little harder than she deserved; for although there doubtless are such unconquerable young ladies of eighteen (o
