Student Loan for international student

I will be going to school fall 2009. I am looking for college money - money to pay for tuition. I am an international student. The school promised me an assistantship or at least a tuition grant but due to the state of the economy, the school hasn't decided whether they will be able to give me the assistantship/tuition grant. I need to take a student loan, but then, I need a co-signer. I can't find a co-signer. How can I get a loan without a co-signer. By the way, I took a student loan in 2006 which I am faithfully paying off every month. Wouldn't that show I am trust worthy enough? Please help. Time is running out. Thanks for the time.

I advise searching the internet. There are many, many grants available.
