Stuck in Windows Task Manager

 

When I try to sign onto my account on the home computer, it does not go to the desk top.  It is stuck in windows task manager, and there's nothing I can about it -- no control, alt, del or escape -- nothing.  The other two accounts are fine, but not mine.  I ran the anti virus program and it's not coming up with any viruses.  Is it a registry issue? Help.  I'm very frustrated.

I'll search, while you Cool wait.

While task windows task manager is open and remains open, try this procedure in order to get to your desktop: 


To start a new program

  1. On the Applications tab, click New Task.
  2. In the Open box, type or select the name of the program you want to add, and then click OK.

Notes

  • New Task is identical to the Run command on the Start menu.
  • If you don't know the name of the program you want to add, click Browse to search for it.
If that doesn't work, have you tried to shut off the power to the computer from the button on the tower.  Maybe that will help, but something tells me you've done that already.  Well, let's see if you can get to your desktop with what I've recommended.  Good luck!

This is likely due to malicious software getting on your computer. I suggest to shutdown and restart in safe mode by tapping F8 repeatedly until you see a lot of text, and arrow down to "Safe Mode"

After Windows finishes loading, click Start > Run > and type MSCONFIG and press Enter. Then click on the Startup tab and uncheck programs that aren't necessary. Honestly, 90% will likely not be necessary except for legitimate anti-virus software. 

Click OK, and restart your computer -- no need to press F8. But you're not done yet! 

Once you are online, download Spybot, CCleaner, and update your anti-virus software (or get one free like AVG or McAfee provided by AOL). Do a FULL SCAN of your computer and remove what it finds. If you fail to do this, more than likely the problem will return.

In your task manager do you see  iexploree   system

And                                                    exploree   system

It sounds like the problem i was having and if clicked

When i would end the  the iexplorer  system it would then return to normal untill the next time are you on a local netwoork
