Strong metal cover for mechanics pit
I need to cover a large mechanics pit in a garage so that no vehicle wheel can slip into it. I would like to use some kind of very strong metal sheeting, which would have to be custom made to fit I suppose. Someone said that they some time ago they had seen a light but strong honeycombed sheeting supported in a metal frame in a garage and that this is what I should try to obtain or have made.
1) Anyone know what this stuff is called ?
2) Anyone know where to get it or get it made ?
I would be most grateful if an engineer or mechanic could advise.
