Strike In Academia

How should the strike involving the academic institutions in Israel be resolved? How long will it go on?.

I think that the teachers need to be given the salary increase that they so deserve. The education in Israel is at its worse and part of it is that with such low salaries, there are very few people interested in becoming teachers. They either have to be very motivated in their goals to teach or they do not have many other options in terms of employment. It is not fair how much they are expected to work for. The classrooms are also often overpopulated with up to 40 children in one class! It is just not fair and something must be done immediately! I think that most of the citizens of Israel support the teacher's in their strike.

Hi,

I'm sorry I didn't phrase the question in a clear way. I was referring to the strike in the universities. I would be happy to hear what you think on this topic.

Have a nice day.

Oh I'm sorry I misunderstood. My fault completely. I think that the answer is similar. The professors do not feel that they are being paid fairly by comparison with other professions of the public sector. Their salaries are not rising at the same pace as other professions as well. For this reason their students are also supporting them in the strike. They are trying to get people to further appreciate the value of higher education in this country.
