Hi Clark I've had a ton of silverplate in my days. This item just seems different to me. They are large mugs and they don't say anything on them. If they are silverplate, they are of extremly good quality. I just don't understand why there is no makers mark on them.

Waste Not Want Not.

Hello emoes, If you cannot take item to a professional for a silver test you may CAREFULLY put some moistened Comet or Ajax Cleanser on a Q-Tip head and rub a very small spot on the bottom. Plate is on surface only and silver in this small spot will deminish- If real Silver it will only Polish this small section and retain it's all silver shiney Appearance. The makers of MOST REAL SILVER take pride in it and will mark it somewhere and is often hard to find or it will contain the small symbols which represent origin and date-example say a Lion or a Letter etc. I do hope this helps you. An antiques dealer can test it and tell you if solid or what percentige or Plated. CRAZY LADY
